Jan Cook is serving her second term on the Stuhr Museum Foundation Board of Trustees. She is a retired educator having taught in the Grand Island Public School for 38 years. She currently is supervising teacher candidates for the University of Nebraska-Kearney. Jan has volunteered for many community organizations including president of the Board of Directors for Heartland CASA, a member on the Moonshell Arts and Humanities Council, served as Council President of St. Pauls Church and chairman of the AOK Ladies organization. She currently is on the Board of Directors for the Friends of the Lied Center in Lincoln. Jan just completed serving as Vice Chairman of four year term on the International Executive Board of Alpha Delta Kappa, an organization for outstanding women educators. In Alpha Delta Kappa, Jan conducted workshops and seminars for teachers, as well as serving on several committees to develop leadership in other members.
