Wolbach Marquee Dedication

GRAND ISLAND, STUHR MUSEUM - A reception for the Gloria and S.N. "Bud" Wolbach Entry Marquee took place at Stuhr Museum on Thursday, October 15. The event, which featured Gloria Wolbach recounting the history of the sign to a crowd of roughly 200 people, took place in the Stuhr Building.

The 18-foot-tall marquee at the front of the museum was both overseen and donated to the museum by Bud and Gloria Wolbach. Though Bud died in 2006 and never got to see construction of the marquee begin, the Wolbach legacy of generosity and leadership for the museum will be the focus of the dedication ceremony. Featuring a design which compliments the architecture of the Stuhr Building, the marquee was designed by local painting contractor Bill Werner. Principal construction by Triple H Construction Inc. out of Grand Island began in late 2007 and detail work has continued throughout 2008 and 2009.
