Through The Visitor's Eyes Exhibit
September 24 - November 7 in the Stuhr Building

GRAND ISLAND, STUHR MUSEUM – O ver 40 photographs of animals taken by Stuhr Museum visitors make up the “Through The Visitor’s Eyes” exhibit now showing in the Stuhr Building.

The exhibit, which runs through November 7, is located in Lacy Hall and features a wide range of animal subjects spanning decades of museum history. From thousands of geese in the sky over the Stuhr Building to one big Buffalo visible from the highway, the subjects are very diverse and the talent on display is substantial.

Awards for this exhibit were announced today and include:

Best Color Photograph , Rose Cargill, “Geese”
Director’s Choice , Steve White, “Green Beetle,Colorful Leaf”
Best Color Photograph Under 18 , Anna Ruvalcaba, “ Sheba”
Best Sepia/Black and White Under 18 , Brody Ptomey, “Baby Dog”
Director’s Choice Under 18 , Anna Ruvalcaba, “Dragonfly”

The “Through The Visitors Eyes” exhibit is part of Stuhr’s animal theme in 2010, which has included several events during the summer and the recently closed summer exhibit “Animals That Shaped the Plains.” The exhibit is available for viewing 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and Noon – 5 p.m. on Sunday.
