The office is ably manned by Marshal Watson, who will keep all would-be law-breakers in line. The marshal is also responsible for enforcing the new fire ordinances for flues and chimneys. Tramps and other riffraff BEWARE! No opium houses are allowed in our town. Marshal Anderson has a quick wit and excellent detective skills, a warning to those that might test our fine peace officer. He also handles sidearm, rifle and horse with expertise, being a veteran of the 1st Nebraska Cavalry Regiment, a unit that displayed excellent fighting skills on our frontier.
The marshal's office was constructed about 1900 as a depot on the St. Joseph and Grand Island Railroad at Hansen, in Adams County, Nebraska.
