Sunday Afternoon with
Tom and Huck August 17th, 2008 at the Hornady Family Arbor
GRAND ISLAND, STUHR MUSEUM - An unseasonably cool and comfortable August day led to a fantastic event full of fishing, games and fun at Stuhr Museum's annual "Sunday Afternoon With Tom and Huck" event.
Aside from the many smaller fish stocked in the pond of the Hornady Family Arbor, a few big ones made an appearance on land and thrilled the hundreds who had come out to fish. Aside from the fishing, visitors had the chance to make a wooden boat and race it across the pond, tell "big fish" stories, spit watermelon seeds and "whitewash" a fence, with a little help from the historical interpreters portraying Tom and Huck.
Next year's "Sunday Afternoon with Tom and Huck" will take place on Sunday, August 16th. For more information, call (308) 385-5316 and in the meantime, enjoy the photos and video from the event!
