Senior Day at Stuhr Museum

GRAND ISLAND, STUHR MUSEUM - Stuhr Museum and Tiffany Square are proud to offer a new experience for the public, especially to those over 60.
The first ever "Senior Day at Stuhr Museum," takes place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 11. While the day features events for youngsters, families and adults, seniors age 60 and older receive free admission and a day full of programming and events meant especially for them. Offerings during the day include:
• "Pawnee Life" program in the Pawnee Earth Lodge by Tom Oshlo at 11 a.m. to Noon.
• "Behind the Scenes of Collection" program by Leslie Vollnogle, Curator of Collections at Stuhr Museum, featuring a tour of the Collections Building from 1 p.m. - 2 p.m.
• "Victorian Secrets" program on 1800s underwear by Kay Cynova, Stuhr's Director of Historical Interpretation, in the Stuhr Building Auditorium from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
• "Maintain Your Brain" program presented by Alexandra Dillon, Associate Director for the Great Plains Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association at the Stuhr Auditorium from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.
In addition, Stuhr's 1890s Living History Railroad Town will be full of historical fun and activity, special food and drinks will be available, the Arbor and Gazebo will be set for picnics and the "Generations of Sport" exhibit will be up in the Stuhr Building.
