GRAND ISLAND, STUHR MUSEUM - Summer School Registration has been underway for almost a month, and just under a thousand children have already signed up for their very own adventure on the prairie.
As of the end of April, 928 students have signed up for Stuhr Museum's vastly expanded list of classes for Summer School 2008. Last year, the museum offered 920 spots to area students, which means this year, we've already exceeded 2007's capacity. There are 1,414 spots available this year in classes ranging from pie making to Tipi Preschool to Digital Photography.
The Education Department is expecting an influx of registrations in May, and many classes are still available. For a complete list of classes, click here. Classes fill up quickly and Stuhr staff work hard to return phone calls in the order they were received.
Classes run June through July and offer an amazing assortment of opportunities for pre-school aged children through young adults. Be it learning about and riding horses, walking in the footsteps of Native Americans, baking, sewing or creating other arts and crafts or taking a trip of the imagination through the enchanted arbor, a unique and exciting experience awaits.
Our Summer School program has continued to grow over the past few years, thanks to the amazing parents and children who participate. For questions on the Summer School program before registration begins, call (308) 385-5316.
