Prairie Treasures Gift Shop Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

GRAND ISLAND, STUHR MUSEUM — A ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the grand re-opening of Stuhr Museum’s “Prairie Treasures Gift Shop” is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. this Friday, December 4, in the Stuhr Building. Light refreshments will be served and representatives from the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce will be on-hand to aid in the festivities. The public is invited to this event, and no admission to the museum is necessary.

For years, the Prairie Treasures Gift Shop has been much more than Stuhr Museum souvenirs. The location made a name for itself as a merchant of Nebraska-made products, books on Nebraska history and art created by local, regional and national artisans. The new Prairie Treasures has kept much of what made the store popular, while growing their emphasis on unique gift items and historical gifts. Much of what will be carried at the gift shop will not be available anywhere else in the area.

The shop underwent a massive renovation in October, and this ceremony marks not just a formal recognition of this renovation, but also a kick off to the holiday shopping season. Stuhr Museum’s “Christmas Past and Present” also begins the same evening with Members Only Night, and continues Dec. 5, 11, 12 & 13.

The Prairie Treasures Gift Shop has always been open to the public, and one need not purchase admission to Stuhr Museum to shop.
