Grand Island Telephone Company, 1915

Eleven young women work the switchboard at the Nebraska Telephone Company Grand Island division. Two chief operators stand at attention behind the seated operators. Completed in 1911, the Telephone Company's building was located at 219 North Walnut Street. From the calendar hanging on the wall behind the two women at the desk, this photograph was taken in December 1915.
