A Sense of Time, A Sense of Place
Grand Island photographer Julius Leschinsky captured his eldest son Oswald escapes into a book. Absorbed in a story, Oswald appears oblivious to his father's camera. Julius Leschinsky won many awards for his photographs including a silver medal at the 1898 Trans-Mississippi Photographer's Convention and several Silver Loving Cups from the 1903, 1904, and 1905 Nebraska State Photographer's Conventions. However, in that sunny spot by the window, little else seemed to matter to Oswald except the next page.

Celebrate reading at the 2002 Nebraska Book Festival taking place September 13 and 14 at Stuhr Museum of the Prairie Pioneer. The theme for the Festival is "A Sense of Time, A Sense of Place".
