GRAND ISLAND, STUHR MUSEUM - The Moonshell Arts and Humanities Council, a Hall County Organization dedicated to the promotion of local arts and humanities efforts, has honored Stuhr Museum for the 150th Anniversary of Hall County Celebration.
The week-long event, held in July of 2007, won the "Arts and Humanities Project Award" for Stuhr Museum. The awards ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 5 at the Riverside Golf Club in Grand Island. The public is welcomed to attend.
The book "A Commemoration of the Sesquicentennial of Hall County, Nebraska," which drew extensively from Stuhr Museum's archives, also won the Literary Award from the Moonshell Arts and Humanities Council.
The 150th Anniversary of Hall County Celebration was honored for the breadth of Hall County history covered during the week of activities. Covering influences from agriculture to Native American culture to town building and recreation, the event drew thousands to the museum and galvanized a community in the celebration of the county's milestone birthday.
