GRAND ISLAND, STUHR MUSEUM - This summer, Stuhr Museum has an amazing evening of music scheduled featuring Mexico's top brass quintet, Metales M5!
The concert is part of the Nebraska-wide Meadowlark Music Festival, which seeks to bring quality classical musicians to the Cornhusker State. In the case of Metales M5, whose web site can be found here, the group performs a truly eclectic repertoir, including traditional classical music arranged for brass, traditional music of their native Mexico and a variety of pop culture-inspired tunes, such as the theme from the James Bond Movies. The group also excels at crowd involvement, and their concerts are frequently raved about wherever they perform.
The concert, which takes place in the full bloom of the Hornady Family Arbor, will be a midsummer treat for music fans, concert fans and those who are seeking a truly special and unique event within the Grand Island city limits. This concert is the only one in the Meadowlark Music Festival's 2008 season to take place outside of Lincoln or Omaha.
Please check back soon for more information about Metales M5, opportunities to take part in a fundraiser by the Stuhr Museum Foundation and more. For more information, call (308) 385-5316.
