Welcome to Stuhr Museum!

GRAND ISLAND, STUHR MUSEUM – Stuhr Museum’s annual celebration of decoration, the “Fantasy of Trees” exhibit opened on Monday, November 26 and runs through January 6, 2008.

The exhibit features 55 trees – a record for the exhibit - lavishly decorated by service organizations, businesses and nonprofit agencies throughout Hall County. Awards will be given by a panel of judges for the top three trees, and visitors will vote for a “People’s Choice” award during the museum’s Christmas Past and Present event December 8, 14, 15 and 16.

Aside from the beauty and creativity on display, the exhibit represents one of the biggest displays of Christmas trees in the state. “I always tell people we have more trees than the White House,” Martha Paulsen, Visitors Service Director and Volunteer Coordinator for Stuhr Museum, said. “Some of the trees this year are truly amazing.”

Highlights from this year’s “Fantasy of Trees,” include a cotton-wrapped tree, trees representing versus from the Christmas carol “The 12 Days of Christmas” and several displays which incorporate pleasant Christmas scents in addition to eye-catching decorations. All trees are located in the Stuhr Building, which is also decorated for the season.

Many organizations have made participation in the “Fantasy of Trees” a regular part of their holiday season, and Stuhr is proud to continue that tradition.

The exhibit continues through January 6. For more information on the “Fantasy of Trees,” contact Martha Paulsen at (308) 385-5316 ext 201 or log onto www.stuhrmuseum.org for pictures of trees included in this year’s exhibit.
