December 1 - January 4, 2009 in the
Stuhr Building

GRAND ISLAND, STUHR MUSEUM – Stuhr Museum’s annual celebration of decoration, the “Fantasy of Trees” exhibit opened on Monday, December 1 and runs through Sunday, January 4.
This year’s exhibit features a whopping 66 trees – 11 more than 2007 and a record for the museum – lavishly decorated by Hall County organizations, businesses and individuals. The trees will be judged and awards given out to the top three trees during Stuhr’s annual “Christmas Past and Present” event Dec. 6, 12, 13 & 14. The “People’s Choice” award will be announced on the final day of the event.
on display, the exhibit represents one of the biggest displays of Christmas trees in the state. “I was so proud to see so many trees this year,” Paulsen said. “Everyone has done such an outstanding job. You have to see some of these trees to believe them.”
Highlights from this year’s “Fantasy of Trees,” include a tree by the Central Nebraska Humane Society that takes up most of the second floor north hallway, several trees representing the “12 Days of Christmas,” and several trees that incorporate scent as well as sights in creating a festive holiday experience. All trees are located in the Stuhr Building, which is also decorated for the season.
Many organizations have made participation in the “Fantasy of Trees” a regular part of their holiday season, and Stuhr is proud to continue that tradition.
The exhibit continues through January 4. For more information on the “Fantasy of Trees,” contact Martha Paulsen at (308) 385-5316 ext 201 or log onto www.stuhrmuseum.org for pictures of trees included in this year’s exhibit.
