Welcome to Stuhr Museum!

GRAND ISLAND, STUHR MUSEUM - One of summer's last great pleasures flew by the weekend of August 18 and 19 as Stuhr Museum's "Fair Time in Railroad Town," faithfully re-created an 1890s Agricultural Fair. During the event, visitors were treated to horse rides, music by the Silver Cornet Band, and a genuine fair complete with games, novelties, and entries from flowers to vegetables and more.

"Fair Time in Railroad Town" is a painstakingly researched re-creation of the season's biggest social event of the 1890s. The public was invited to participate by entering fair competitions with the folks of Railroad Town, and the trappings of an old time fair, like a Fortune Teller, midway games, a curiosities tent and more, all lent to the authenticity of the fair.

Look for "Fair Time in Railroad Town" in August of 2008, and we'll see you next year.
