1897 Railroad Town Agricultural Fair
August 18 & 19, 2007

GRAND ISLAND, STUHR MUSEUM— Come one, come all to the Railroad Town Fair, August 18 & 19 at Stuhr Museum! From “J.P. Black’s Booth of Curiosities” featuring odd and strange items from all over the world, to the fair games to the plethora of vegetables, canned goods, needlework, textiles, baked goods and more on display, the “Railroad Town Fair” faithfully re-creates a county fair from the 1890s.

There will be many hands-on activities available on both days, such as Carnival Games; displays of baked goods, floral arrangements, and more; an apple peeling contest; drawing a picture and entering it into the Fair, and an appearance by Madame Wanda, fortune teller extraordinaire. The Silver Cornet Band will perform their final concert of the season at 2 pm on Saturday.

The Fair is the social event of the summer for the folks of Railroad Town, so come on out and join us for a weekend of real family old-time fair fun at Stuhr Museum. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18 and Noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19.

Admission is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors and $6 for children 6-12. Children 5 and under are free, as are Stuhr Museum and Hastings Museum members. For questions, call Stuhr Museum at 308-385-5316 or log onto www.stuhrmuseum.org.
