HISTORIC AREA INTERPRETERS & CONCESSIONS HELP

We are currently accepting applications for part-time Interpreters to begin training April 2, 2008. This includes both third-person interpreter and Silver Dollar concession positions. Interpreters provide experiences for guests in the various time periods of our living history museum historic areas in Railroad Town. Successful interpretation compels guests to examine their images of the past, to reflect on their current attitudes, values and beliefs and to continue that examination beyond the museum experience.

This is a chance to expand upon your strong communication skills, work with talented and dedicated co-workers and improve your historical knowledge. If you ever desired to work part-time in an outdoor setting and have the opportunity to contribute to one of the premier historical museums in the U.S., this is the position for you! Candidates must be able to work 3-5 days each week, at least two weekends per month, major summer holidays and occasional evenings from May through September as scheduled.

Applications may be obtained and returned to the Reynolds Building. Applications through March 6, 2008, or until positions are filled. For more information, please call 308-385-5316, extension 210. EEO employer.
