GRAND ISLAND, STUHR MUSEUM — Stuhr Museum is proud to offer an in-depth look at genealogy research and techniques during the “Discovering Family History” workshop scheduled from 6-8 p.m. October 10 at the museum.
“Discovering Family History” is a workshop both for those beginning their journey into their family’s past and the experienced researcher who is searching for advanced tricks and tips about how to uncover the details of their family’s history.
During the workshop, several of the museum’s curators will help members of the public navigate the often tricky research issues that might come their way when researching family history. The topics to be covered include:
●Resources available at the Museum
●Where information may be discovered
●The use of computer programs such as Family Tree Maker and Ancestry.com
●How to prove or disprove family legends
●What questions help researchers find specific information
●What resources are open to the public concerning family history
This program is free to the public. The workshop is presented once every year and will be held in the Reynolds Library For more information contact Jessica Waite, Stuhr’s Curator of Research, at (308) 385-5316 ext. 209, vial e-mail at research@stuhrmuseum.org.
