thru October 5 "Hungry Planet" “Hungry Planet: What the World Eats” a fascinating photo essay documenting 12 families from 12 countries, provides a thought-provoking analysis of worldwide food consumption, examining what we as global citizens share - or lack. The exhibit is located in Cronin Hall in the Stuhr Building.
July 1 - September 12 Summer Exhibit "Animals That Shaped The Plains " Stuhr's annual Summer Exhibit tackles the relationship between our pioneer ancestors and animals. From beasts of burden to beloved family pets, this exhibit uses photographs, artifacts and hands-on pieces to teach and inspire.
August 14 & 15 Back to School in Railroad Town 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday, Noon - 5 p.m. Sunday. The one-room Peters School is the site of this long-standing, popular event where 'readin, 'riting and 'rithmatic are the focus. Certificates of merit will be awarded. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for children and FREE for Stuhr Museum members.
August 22 Sunday Afternoon With Tom and Huck Noon - 4 p.m. Stuhr's Hornady Family Arbor is the site of this summer celebration that includes fishing in the pond, a wooden boat race, watermelon seed spitting, live music, food and more. A limited number of poles and bait will be provided. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for children and FREE for Stuhr Museum members.

September 4, 5 & 6 1890s Agricultural Fair 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Noon - 5 p.m. on Sunday. New for 2010, celebrate the Nebraska State Fair with a traditional county fair from the 1890s! Wagon rides, agricultural demos and midway games are just part of the fun. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for children and FREE for Stuhr Museum members.
September 6 Last day open for all Oudoor Displays until May 1, 2011. Stuhr Building and Fonner Rotunda remain open all year.
September 17 - November 11 Grand Island Art & Grand Island Sketch Club Exhibition and Sale The best work of the Grand Island's premier art clubs are on display.
September 18 Bikes and Hikes 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Stuhr closes traffic to cars to let hikers and bikers rule the grounds! Events include historic bicycle displays, information booths, the "Buffalo Chip Run" and a myriad of paths to hike, bike and explore. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for children and FREE for Stuhr Museum members.
September 24 - November 7 "Through the Visitors Eyes" Photo Exhibit This photo display features photos taken at Stuhr by visitors during the museum's 43 year history.
September 25 Harvest Festival 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. The "Harvest Festival" is a day full of family fun focused on the harvest and food! Enjoy specialty food, games, live music and dance displays, a grass maze, apple activities, horse drawn wagon rides and participate in dozens of activities throughout the day. Railroad Town will be open. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for children and FREE for Stuhr Museum members.

Grab some candy on the treat trail, bob for doughnuts and apples and get a fun fright in the Haunted Field. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for children and FREE for Stuhr Museum members.

Stuhr's signature event features a beautiful lamp lit tour of Railroad Town, cooking, crafts and gorgeous decorations in every building, live music and the sights, sounds, smells...and spirit of Christmas.
