February 6 & 7 "It's Quilting Time" Quilt Show 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday, Noon - 5 p.m. Sunday in the Stuhr Building. This annual event features dozens of booths, exhibits, shopping opportunities, seminars and much more! Join this annual tradition for quilters and non-quilters alike.
Through February 7 "Quilt Exhibit and Contest: Timeless Animals Great and Small" Some of the areas most talented quilters tackle the subject of animals in this exhibit located in the main gallery. The variety of techniques and styles, tied together with one subject matter, makes for a show quilters won't want to miss!
February 13 "Prairie Princess Party" 1-4 p.m. in the Stuhr Building. Princes and princesses alike are invited to this magical afternoon featuring our "magic tea room," dance demonstrations, enchanted activities and photos with Ms. Nebraska! Children will leave with arts and crafts and memories of being treated like royalty. Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for children and FREE for Stuhr Members.
February 18 "Wings Over the Platte" Preview Reception 7-9 p.m. in the Stuhr Building. Get a sneak peak at one of the biggest art shows in the region. This preview reception also features dozens of styles of chocolate as well as live music and the elegant atmosphere of the Stuhr Building in the evening.
February 19 - April 11 "Wings Over the Platte Exhibition and Sale " The area's largest art show focusing on life on the Platte River and its tributaries features dozens of pieces of art by local, regional and national artists. Featured artists will be announced shortly.
February 21 "Preserving Family Treasures" 2 p.m. The full resources and expertise of Stuhr Museum' s Research Department is available to the public during the annual Preserving Family Treasures classes. This class will be one of three which cover different areas of preservation and practical application.

March 6 Crane Speaker Program presents "Water Watchers of the West" by Dr. William Beachly 2 p.m. in the Stuhr Auditorium. Stuhr's "Crane Speaker Program" brings speakers from many areas of expertise to speak about life on the Platte River during the Sandhill Crane migration.
March 13 Crane Speaker Program presents Artist Talk and Reception for the "Wings Over the Platte" Art Show and Sale Featuring Artist Julie Crocker 2 p.m. in the Stuhr Auditorium. Stuhr's "Crane Speaker Program" brings speakers from many areas of expertise to speak about life on the Platte River during the Sandhill Crane migration.
March 19 Family Game Night 6-9 p.m. in the Stuhr Building. Come play at the museum as we offer dozens of different period and modern games. Try as many as you can! Admission is $8 for adults, $4 for children and FREE for Stuhr Museum members.

April 16 - May 1 Hall County Student Art Show The best pieces of student art from Hall County student artists will be on display during this annual event. A reception will be held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, April 18 in the Stuhr Building.
April 23 - November 14 Taylor Ranch Animals The Lily Pad in the Stuhr Building will feature an exhibit on the ranch animals that might have been used in the operation of the Taylor Ranch on the museum grounds.

May 1 Outdoor Exhibits Open
May 7 - November 14 "Buggies and Carriages" Cronin Hall will be the site of this exhibit focusing on the main means of transportation (aside from walking) during the 1890s.

May 15 Visitor and Hall County Appreciation Day 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. The gates of Stuhr Museum are open to one and all during this event. Railroad Town will be open and full of special activities, the museum's Summer Exhibit will be open and all of the museum is open to you and your family free of charge.
May 21 "Stuhr Under the Stars" Gates open at 7:30, movie begins at dusk. Back for a second year, "Stuhr Under the Stars" gives visitors a chance to enjoy games on the museum green followed by a movie shown in Railroad Town. Movie to be announced soon.
May 31 "1890s Memorial Day (w/ GAR Dedication and Military Encampment)" 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Stuhr's annual Memorial Day celebration and remembrance will be supplemented with a dedication ceremony of a military monument and special events featuring interpreters representing soldiers from conflicts past. This will be a stirring and exciting day. Don't miss it.

June 12 Stuhr Goes to the Dogs 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Law Enforcement dogs, trained dogs, dogs up for adoption and exhibits on the role of "Man's Best Friend" in 1890's life is all available during this furry, four-legged family celebration. WOOF! Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for children and FREE for Stuhr Museum members.

July 4 1890s Independence Day Celebration 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. A parade through Railroad Town, a concert by the Silver Cornet Band, a patriotic program, pie eating contests and games on the green make up this summer tradition of All-American fun! Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for children and FREE for Stuhr Museum members.
July 10 Wild Horses and Working Wagons 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Horses and the work they do is the focus of this new event which includes horse breaking demonstrations, horse rides, games in Railroad Town and a huge display of wagons and buggies. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for children and FREE for Stuhr Museum members.
July 23 Cowboy Night 6 - 9 p.m. Meet 'em at the Farm for an evening of cooking demonstrations, ropin' and wood brandin', live music, s'mores, wagon rides, games and fun. Join us for this Stuhr tradition. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for children and FREE for Stuhr Museum members.

August 14 & 15 Back to School in Railroad Town 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday, Noon - 5 p.m. Sunday. The one-room Peters School is the site of this long-standing, popular event where 'readin, 'riting and 'rithmatic are the focus. Certificates of merit will be awarded. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for children and FREE for Stuhr Museum members.
August 22 Sunday Afternoon With Tom and Huck Noon - 4 p.m. Stuhr's Hornady Family Arbor is the site of this summer celebration that includes fishing in the pond, a wooden boat race, watermelon seed spitting, live music, food and more. A limited number of poles and bait will be provided. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for children and FREE for Stuhr Museum members.

September 4, 5 & 6 1890s Agricultural Fair 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Noon - 5 p.m. on Sunday. New for 2010, celebrate the Nebraska State Fair with a traditional county fair from the 1890s! Wagon rides, agricultural demos and midway games are just part of the fun. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for children and FREE for Stuhr Museum members.
September 6 Last day open for all Oudoor Displays until May 1, 2011. Stuhr Building and Fonner Rotunda remain open all year.

September 18 Bikes and Hikes 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Stuhr closes traffic to cars to let hikers and bikers rule the grounds! Events include historic bicycle displays, information booths, the "Buffalo Chip Run" and a myriad of paths to hike, bike and explore. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for children and FREE for Stuhr Museum members.

Stuhr's signature event features a beautiful lamp lit tour of Railroad Town, cooking, crafts and gorgeous decorations in every building, live music and the sights, sounds, smells...and spirit of Christmas.
